Selling a house in Baltimore City
Baltimore City is its own jurisdiction. It isn't part of Baltimore County and hasn't been since 1851. Cases on city houses go to the Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. Courthouse on North Calvert Street, which is also where the city's land records are recorded.

I buy in part of Baltimore City, not all of it
Around Baltimore I work a set list of ZIP codes instead of the whole jurisdiction. Here it is in full. If yours isn’t on it, I’m not the right buyer for your house, and I’d rather you read that here than find out on a call.

Where a case on your house would be filed
Cases on Baltimore City houses go to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. Courthouse, at 100 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. It sits in the Eighth Judicial Circuit. Those records are public, and that’s how I read a docket before I call.
Where the deed lives
Every Maryland county keeps its land records in the Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office. For Baltimore City that’s Baltimore. Deeds, mortgages and liens all go there. They’re online too, through MDLandRec, which the State Archives runs. That’s the second record I read.
Where in Baltimore City I buy
Anywhere inside the ZIP codes above. They reach Frankford, Belair-Edison, Canton, Brooklyn, Charles Village, Hampden, Downtown, Riverside and the streets around them. One note on that list: Baltimore City is organised by neighbourhood rather than by town; these are drawn from the City's own neighbourhood boundary file and ordered by 2020 population. I haven’t ranked them by size, because I couldn’t verify a ranking from an official source, and a made-up one is still made up.

One more thing about Baltimore City
Baltimore was incorporated in 1796 as a municipality inside Baltimore County, and the 1851 constitution made it an independent city on a par with Maryland's counties. At the 2020 Census the jurisdiction had 585,708 residents.
What I actually do here
I buy directly and as-is. No repairs, no cleaning, nothing hauled out. There’s no commission, because there’s no listing side. I pay the customary buyer’s closing costs, and you pick the date. If a case has already been filed in Baltimore, you can still sell — settlement just has to land before the sale date, and those dates are set by statute, so you can know them ahead of time, so they are knowable in advance rather than a surprise.
