Selling a house in Harford County
Harford County reaches from the Baltimore County line north-east to the head of the Chesapeake at Havre de Grace. Cases are filed on West Courtland Street in Bel Air, and the Land Records Department is in that same courthouse.

Where a case on your house would be filed
Cases on Harford County houses go to the Circuit Court for Harford County, at 20 West Courtland Street, Bel Air, MD 21014. It sits in the Third Judicial Circuit. Those records are public, and that’s how I read a docket before I call.
Where the deed lives
Every Maryland county keeps its land records in the Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office. For Harford County that’s Bel Air. Deeds, mortgages and liens all go there. They’re online too, through MDLandRec, which the State Archives runs. That’s the second record I read.
Where in Harford County I buy
Anywhere in Harford County — Bel Air, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Bel Air North, Bel Air South, Edgewood, Joppatowne, Abingdon, and everywhere between them. One note on that list: three incorporated municipalities and a set of large Census-designated places. I haven’t ranked them by size, because I couldn’t verify a ranking from an official source, and a made-up one is still made up.

One more thing about Harford County
Harford County was created in 1773, and Aberdeen Proving Ground is inside it — the Census recognises the installation as its own place. Harford is one of only two Maryland counties where Circuit Court judges also preside over the Orphans' Court. At the 2020 Census the jurisdiction had 260,924 residents.
What I actually do here
I buy directly and as-is. No repairs, no cleaning, nothing hauled out. There’s no commission, because there’s no listing side. I pay the customary buyer’s closing costs, and you pick the date. If a case has already been filed in Bel Air, you can still sell — settlement just has to land before the sale date, and those dates are set by statute, so you can know them ahead of time, so they are knowable in advance rather than a surprise.
